Having space problems in your profile?

You can now save files on the /tmp folder of the local station you use in the farm without having to worry that they’ll be deleted after a reboot.

Some things to note, though:

  • The files can be stored in the /tmp folder up till 30 days, from the last time of their use. Meaning, files won’t stay there forever, only as long as you use them, and only as long as you do it at least once every 29 days.
  • The files are stored only in the local computer you save them. So, if you save them in del13 and then enter the del20 station, you won’t find them there because they are local on the del13 station. However, you can ssh {user_name}@del13 and enter your files.
  • Note that since the /tmp folder can be accessed by ALL users on the station, anyone can enter them and delete them. So, don’t store important files there! Use it only as a temporary tool.
